About

My name is Sophie Crowley (BSc Hons PGCE MA DipABRSM) and along with 15 years teaching experience in primary school, I have been playing the piano and singing for over 30 years.

I started full-time primary teaching in 2008, and at the same time studied part-time towards my Masters degree in Education. Being a class teacher was incredibly enjoyable but after starting a family, I decided to set up my own teaching business from home. I quickly became oversubscribed, teaching 36 piano students a week, and going into schools to teach whole-class lessons. I now provide lessons both from my home in Harpenden and within schools in the local area on a peripatetic basis, and am available as a pianist and accompanist for events, performances and exams across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas.

I hold a diploma with the Royal Schools of Music in Solo Piano Performance (DipABRSM), and have a Masters degree in Education. I have sung with choirs from a young age, from church groups to the London Philharmonic Choir as an adult, regularly performing at the Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall with the London Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic Orchestras.

I am a member of the Musicians’ Union, have an enhanced DBS certificate and hold public liability insurance.
